Pessoas de todas as idades e níveis de condicionamento físico podem participar. Basta comparecer à praça com roupas leves e apropriadas para a realização de atividades físicas. Beny Schickler, instrutor chefe de Krav Magá em Minas Gerais, avalia que a prática da arte ajuda a garantir um direito fundamental de todos, a autodefesa.
Apesar de a essência do Krav Magá estar ligada à defesa pessoal, as aulas também ajudam a quem quer perder peso e ganhar condicionamento físico a alcançar os objetivos. Em cerca de uma hora de treinamentos, é possível perder até 750 calorias. Mesmo com este potencial de queima calórica, a prática do Krav Magá é bastante democrática.

O Krav Magá surgiu na década de 1940, em Israel, em um contexto de guerras e violência extrema. A partir da necessidade de sobreviver ao horror, Imi Lichtenfeld criou técnicas de luta pela vida utilizando as únicas ferramentas que tinha no momento, o corpo e a mente.
