Uma das maiores personalidades da música popular brasileira, Elza Soares voltou de maneira avassaladora à cena musical no ano de 2015 com o show da turnê A Mulher do Fim do Mundo, o primeiro álbum de inéditas da carreira da artista. O Teatro Porto Seguro recebe o show no dia20 de março, terça-feira, às 21h.
O trabalho une poesia, samba, MPB e temáticas sobre a violência contra a mulher e o racismo. No set-list canções do álbum, como Coração do Mar (Poema de Oswald de Andrade musicado por José Miguel Wisnik), Firmeza?! (Rodrigo Campos), Malandro (Jorge Aragão), A Carne (Seu Jorge, Marcelo Yuca e Wilson Capellette), Volta Por Cima (Paulo Vanzolini), Maria Da Vila Matilde (Douglas Germano), entre outras. Também estão no roteiro da apresentação sucessos de sua trajetória, como Malandro, A Carne e Volta por Cima.
Assim que o disco foi lançado, no segundo semestre de 2015, o reconhecimento foi instantâneo. Vencedor do Grammy Latino na categoria de melhor álbum de música popular brasileira e eleito pela APCA (Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte) como o disco do ano, o aclamado A Mulher do Fim do Mundo é o primeiro disco de inéditas da carreira de seis décadas de Elza Soares. O álbum rendeu prêmios no festival de NYC em julho deste ano.
O fim de 2016 trouxe mais listas e resultados surpreendentes para o trabalho. A Mulher do Fim do Mundo foi citado como “um dos 10 melhores discos do ano” pelo jornal The New York Times, eleito “o melhor álbum de 2016” na Ípsilon, pelo público de Portugal, e o Pitchfork o pontuou como o 32º melhor álbum de 2016.

A carreira de Elza Soares sempre foi pautada pela ousadia, seja pela maneira de cantar, pela atitude no palco ou pelas escolhas artísticas. No álbum A Mulher do Fim do Mundo, a mítica cantora dá mais um salto ao se unir à vanguarda musical paulistana no primeiro trabalho de sua trajetória composto somente por canções inéditas. A inovação se evidencia na sonoridade do disco – o 34º de uma carreira que já ultrapassa a marca de seis décadas – realizada por um time de músicos idealizado e montado especialmente para a ocasião pelo produtor e baterista Guilherme Kastrup.
Com o núcleo criativo formado por Kiko Dinucci (guitarra), Marcelo Cabral (baixo), Rodrigo Campos (guitarra), Celso Sim (direção artística) e Rômulo Fróes (direção artística), nomes conhecidos da cena musical, o projeto apresenta 11 faixas que transitam por gêneros diversos, como samba, rock, rap e eletrônico, em arranjos sobrepostos por timbres arrojados, ruídos, distorções e dissonâncias.
“Elza Soares é uma artista viva, corajosa e, acima de tudo, não tem medo de nada! Nada é moderno demais para ela. Nenhuma dissonância a assusta, nenhuma distorção a intimida. Com sua fome do novo, se transforma sempre. É uma das pessoas mais generosas e humanas que já tive a oportunidade de conhecer”, enaltece Kastrup.
“Eu acho que o Brasil merece um disco assim, ousado, sem medo de dizer palavrão. Acredito que o disco vai servir de inspiração para outros artistas”, aposta a cantora.
Gravado no Red Bull Studios São Paulo, em 2015, o álbum teve o samba como ponto de partida, mas, acima de qualquer limite de gênero, os pilares fundamentais foram a liberdade de criação e de expressão. “Fazer pela primeira vez na vida um disco só de inéditas, depois de tantos anos na estrada, já foi pra mim uma grande surpresa. Fui muito feliz em todo o processo porque esse projeto foi feito exclusivamente para mim”, conta Elza, ressaltando que a nova experiência, em comparação com outros trabalhos, exigiu uma dedicação maior, mas, ao mesmo tempo, permitiu mais autonomia nas interpretações. “Como são músicas que nunca tinha ouvido antes, precisei estudá-las mais a fundo. São arranjos muito caprichosos, com uma pegada rock ‘n’ roll, e eu tinha que estar muito segura para dar conta. Por outro lado, senti uma liberdade de criação muito grande. Foi bom para ver que os caminhos não se esgotam”, revela.
Confeccionadas sob medida para a voz de Elza, as canções levam a assinatura tanto de integrantes da banda, quanto de outros compositores, como José Miguel Wisnik, Cacá Machado, Clima, Douglas Germano e Alice Coutinho. São letras críticas, mais do que atuais, que jogam luz sobre a vida urbana de São Paulo, a partir de temas como transsexualidade, violência doméstica, narcodependência, a crise da água e a morte.
