São Paulo, fevereiro de 2017 — Pesquisa da Visa, em parceria com a AYTM Market Research, buscou entender a percepção dos consumidores em relação à autenticação por biometria e confirmou seu interesse em adotar novas tecnologias biométricas. A cada dez consumidores entrevistados, 9 estão familiarizados com a biometria. Os brasileiros têm uma forte percepção de que a biometria é mais rápida (85%) e mais fácil de utilizar (89%) do que senhas.
Essa percepção sobre o uso da impressão digital, voz e reconhecimento facial, bem como a digitalização ocular, é quase universal. A maioria dos consumidores brasileiros já fez uso do reconhecimento de suas impressões digitais, com 6 em cada 10 pessoas usando-a regularmente.
Hoje, quase a metade dos brasileiros pesquisados (48%) já percebe que a biometria é mais segura do que as senhas. E 46% acreditam que usar biometria pode ajudar a eliminar a necessidade de se lembrar de várias senhas. Considerando que ainda é uma tecnologia nova e que está começando a ser aplicada em diversos setores, isso demonstra que há um interesse crescente e oportunidades.
A pesquisa mostra que 98% estão interessados em usar pelo menos um método biométrico para verificar sua identidade e, coincidentemente, 98% também estão interessados em usar pelo menos um método biométrico para fazer pagamentos. Ou seja, quase todos os brasileiros entrevistados estão interessados em receber opções de autenticação de pagamento usando impressão digital ou reconhecimento facial do emissor de seu cartão de pagamento. Do mesmo modo, os entrevistados confiam na indústria de meios de pagamento – mais do que provedores de outras indústrias, como de telefonia móvel– para armazenar informações biométricas sensíveis. Finalmente, mais de três quartos dos consumidores indicaram que se o seu emissor de cartão não oferecer autenticação biométrica, no futuro eles provavelmente trocariam de emissores.
Abaixo, seguem mais alguns destaques do estudo:
· Os consumidores brasileiros concordam que a principal finalidade de inserir uma senha é proteger e confirmar sua identidade. Embora a maioria (90%) entenda que seu pagamento é protegido quando usam uma senha, 86% continuam preocupados com a segurança da senha.
· Os consumidores normalmente usam várias senhas – 64% deles não usam senhas únicas para cada conta. Dois terços (66%) abandonaram uma compra on-line porque não tinham acesso ao seu cartão naquele momento e quase três em cada 10 (28%) abandonaram porque não conseguiram se lembrar da senha.
· Em relação ao uso da biometria em pagamentos, o interesse é maior para utilizar o reconhecimento de impressões digitais (63%), mas é significativo também para o reconhecimento ocular (42%) e o facial (41%).
· O reconhecimento de impressão digital é o método percebido como o mais seguro e confortável para os consumidores, seguido de reconhecimento ocular e facial.
· Entre todos os cenários de pagamento on-line, o reconhecimento de impressão digital é o método de autenticação mais desejado, seguido de escaneamento ocular e reconhecimento facial. Poucos consumidores (3% -10%) não usariam nenhum desses métodos para uma compra online.
· Os consumidores brasileiros são mais propensos a dizer que confiariam em seu banco para armazenar seus dados biométricos (71%), seguido pela empresa de tecnologia de pagamento eletrônico (49%). Apenas 4% dos consumidores não confiariam em nenhuma instituição. Mais de sete em cada 10 consumidores se afastariam de um banco, rede de cartões ou provedor de telefonia celular que não ofereça autenticação biométrica no futuro.
“Para os emissores, nunca houve um momento melhor para integrar a tecnologia biométrica aos aplicativos e às experiências de pagamento dos seus clientes”, diz Alessandro Rabelo, diretor executivo de Produtos da Visa do Brasil. “A Visa está investindo nas melhores formas de adicionar essas tecnologias emergentes ao portfólio de produtos e serviços, como a autenticação por selfie e digital, lançada com Neon em 2017. Os avanços nas funcionalidades dos dispositivos móveis estão aumentando a precisão e a velocidade da biometria, permitindo que ela seja usada em transações de pagamento. Ao mesmo tempo, temos percebido que os consumidores estão bastante familiarizados e à vontade usando a biometria para fazer mais do que apenas desbloquear seus telefones”.
